'Do you remember? It was 1959. The observatory. What a strange story. Rock and roll session is a session where we can do what we want to do. [...] Everything is possible.' These lyrics from the opening title track of Nurse With Wound's 1994 magnum opus Rock 'n Roll Station. Although their (well, really 'his' - it's a project of Steven Stapleton) music is fairly indefinable, to newcomers it's normally a mixture of industrial and avant-garde, but on this, Stapleton took a break from the norm to make a more rhythmic record, which was controversial among existing fans to say the least. Regardless, it's far from mainstream and is a stunning album which should be listened to again and again and again.
N.B. This is a 1996 re-release which features a remix of the closing track.

Cranioclast - Koitlaransk [1989]
Now it would be ridiculous for me to claim to be an expert in the realm of industrial, but I know the odd thing. One of said things is that this is good. Cranioclast is a German industrial duo named after a piece of surgical equipment. The interesting thing about the music is its tendency to hop between ambient, industrial and noisy elements without ever going into the realm of accessibility that the likes of Skinny Puppy and Throbbing Gristle occasionally would. The music as a whole has an ethereal and vulgar beauty to it, and really, I'd recommend the album to anyone open to unconventional styles of music. If anyone knows what the album title means then it would be great if you could let me know in the comments section.
N.B. The rip is split into two sides of the LP rather than the individual tracks of the album.

Akira Yamaoka - Silent Hill 1-4 OST (1999-2004)
The first few games of the Silent Hill series are considered some of the best horror games around, and the soundtracks are considered some of the best in gaming, period. To match the hellish world of the games, sound designer for the first seven Silent Hill games Akira Yamaoka created a mostly ambient industrial soundtrack, broken up with some extremely emotional rock songs. These four official soundtracks (for Silent Hill 1 through 4) focus mainly on the more melodic side of the games' music, which can usually be found in cutscenes and the like.
However, Silent Hill mega-fan Fungo has created complete soundtracks for the first three games which focus more on the in-game tracks, and as such are much more ambient (and in the case of Silent Hill 3, much better than the official soundtrack). I've uploaded the first four official soundtracks here, but I haven't uploaded the complete soundtracks as you can download them for free from Fungo's website: Silent Hill Media (because he's put a ton of work into them and you should totally check it out).

Godflesh - Streetcleaner [1989]
Those who dispute Godflesh's importance in the shaping of industrial metal are either trolling or just plain stupid. Sure, they sound nothing like the millions of bands nowadays who mix Korn and Combichrist and see it fit to call it thus, but in this is the purest mixture of industrial music and metal that one can find. Streetcleaner is unparalleled in its achievement; unmatched in its pure crushing sound. And none of this forsakes songwriting ability; there are massive 'tunes' in the likes of 'Like Rats' and 'Christbait Rising'. Basically, if you don't have this already, it's high time you do.

Death Grips - Exmilitary [2011]
This free mixtape from earlier this year drives down your throat the kind of insanity phonies like Tyler the Creator can only dream of. With modern hipster legend Zach Hill at the helm, the album blends the blares of industrial punk with traditional hip hop which leads to more than satisfactory results. MC Ride's screamed lyrics flow so roughly and inadequately he sounds near demonic in his constant, pounding delivery. Zach Hill's drums remain high in the mix for most the album adding a depth and the rhythm that is so often lacking in modern sample-based rap music. On the subject of samples, this album manages to cram in masses of them, from David Bowie to Pink Floyd to Black Flag to The Beastie Boys AND the album starts with a recording from Charles Manson, how many albums can make that claim! Thankfully these high brow samples' presence does not distract from the electronic rawness and delirium that Death Grips base themselves in. This is definitely one of the most original releases you'll find this year and IT'S FREE from their website right now so you have absolutely no excuse not to try it out! If you want a taster, the Guillotine video gives an idea of what you'll be putting yourself in for...

Haus Arafna/Karl Runau - Take One, Get Two split [1995]
So, I was going to post the first album today, but since a friend asked me to send him this I'l post this one instead. This is a split 7 inch between Haus and Karl Runau, Karl is a industrial and experimental musician that played a lot of styles at the time and was highly influential in the realms of power electronics and EBM, today he is only known for the obscenely expensive costs of his releases, that like this one were limited (although this one isn't has rare or expensive). Ministry - Rio Grande Blood [2006]
Ministry were sadly mourned upon their demise - they released one more album after this, but I haven't heard it. This is certainly more thrash metal-oriented than their earlier stuff, which suits a metal fan like me.160 kbps

Triarii - Muse In Arms [2008]
And now for something completely different. The music made by Triarii is often referred to as 'martial industrial' - basically industrial music with a militaristic feel to it. Featuring orchestras, battle choirs and lots of clunking chains, grinding gears and army shouting, it's the kind of soundtrack you'd expect a war to have.
"Muse In Arms" is perhaps Triarii's best-known album, containing the haunting "Birth Of A Sun" and the epic-sounding "Europa". I'll have to admit I'm not much into martial industrial so I can't recommend it over other, similar works, but if this concept sounds interesting to you, give it a shot.

Rammstein - Reise, Reise [2004]
Wee Xylem isn't the only one who enjoys the 'Stein from time to time around here! Except I personally prefer this album to Mutter, due to the higher quality of songwriting to be found. Like all Rammstein albums, the second half is full of filler, but the first 25 minutes is great.160 kbps

Ministry - Psalm 69 (The Way To Succeed And The Way To Suck Eggs) [1992]
Much like the previously posted 'Sad Wings Of Destiny', this is an album that there isn't really anything new to say about. This essentially started the industrial metal genre (I'm aware that there existed pure industrial before), and has stood the test of time well.Similar artists: Godflesh, Pitchshifter, Skinny Puppy (I'll admit, I know little about industrial (metal))

Swans - My Father Will Guide Me Up A Rope To The Sky [2010]
Swans are legendary, simply put. They are one of the few bands with a discography the size of theirs to have never released a dud, this one from last year included. Although this lets up on the crushing emotion in some ways, it adds more in others, ensuring the continuation of Swans' wonderful record.N.B. Files are incorrectly tagged as from the UK.

The Axis Of Perdition - Deleted Scenes From The Transition Hospital [2005]
Middlesborough residents The Axis Of Perdition's music is about as dirty as their streets. Heavily industrial, this oddity within black metal is also clearly influenced by modern French orthodox black metal. This, however, actually is scary under the right circumstances.256 kbps

Marilyn Manson - Portrait Of An American Family [1994]
Many people will know of Marilyn Manson for his later work and most people will have made up their mind about him. However his debut is simply a great rock album full of catchy songs. So despite what you think of his more recent releases (I'm personally not a fan although most of his albums contain a few good songs) you should give this album a listen. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys good rock music.256 kbps

Atari Teenage Riot - 60 Second Wipeout [1999]
This is the defining album in the 'digital hardcore' genre. It is a great mix of industrial, noise, punk vocals and violent drum beats. This is a rich, well produced album that combines interesting music with ATR's protest songs. The only complaint I have with this album is, in true DJing fashion, the band feel the urge to constantly remind me of their name throughout some songs. A minor detail however in a great album.192 kbps

Swans - Children Of God [1987]
Swans are without a doubt pioneers in music. Even the term 'grindcore' ultimately finds its origin in them, even if it's far from an accurate descriptor. This is... a Swans record - repetitive yet never boring, and pervaded throughout by haunting, almost shamanistic vocals.N.B. There is an unidentified track on here, labelled as another copy of 'Our Love Lies'.
