Karl Sanders was a large fan of death metal from the moment he knew of it, sharing a house with Morbid Angel at one point, and after starting out in thrash band Morriah, he started tech-death band Nile, who typically used Egyptian scales and had Egypt-based lyrics. Being one of the most technically proficient guitarists in the world, Sanders' compositions are for the large part unbelievably complex without ever becoming tech wank.128 kbps (sorry!)
