Although music is a major part of all of our lives, we all have some form of external life. If there are periods in which no posts are added, I'm sorry, but that's how things happen. Even though I love blogging like this, sometimes I can't muster up the desire within myself to write about yet another album.

I'd like to say too that Court In The Act will never be run for personal profit. This means no advertisement, no premium schemes, and no LinkBucks. Megaupload is used because it strikes a fair balance between ease of upload and ease of download.

Laurasia Awaits Us - Apathy Remains Victorious [2012]

This is a band request, and although I can't give it 100% approval due to not having listened to the whole thing (it's not really my style), the tracks I listened to on YouTube seem decent enough. Laurasia Awaits Us is a self-described Finnish post/doom metal band. Although the former is represented by just a little tinge of the NeurIsisian axis, the latter comes across relatively well. The riffs seem good enough too. Recommended for fans of sombre doom with harsh vocals.

Zeni Geva - 10.000 Light Years [2001]

Today I present you Zeni Geva, a experimental metal band from Japan. They are a strange but awesome band, weird in every aspect. They are fronted by KK Null a know artist in the noise field, with the rest of the members changing frequently but all of them have some experience in the free improv, psychedelic rock or noise rock fields. And what music they create you ask, well it's a mixture of hardcore punk, doom metal, noise rock, played in a minimalism, repetitive, hypnotic and chaotic way. This record is one of my favorites it displays their style with a decent production (unlike the early releases), it's a dynamic record compared to previous ones, with a more experimental edge that other more "soft" releases they put out in the previous records. You can't go wrong with this release if you are brave, mad or stoned at least.

Mistress - The Glory Bitches Of Doghead [2007]

Simply put, this is like Anaal Nathrakh with a bit of sludge influence and a bit of doom a la Dragged Into Sunlight. Sound appetizing? You'd bet your left knee it's appetizing. Ultimately crushing, and pretty much soul-destroying, yet never forgetting the need to keep the listener interested, Mistress are a band who have been perpetually underrated. Features members of the aforementioned Anaal Nathrakh.

Eyehategod - Take As Needed For Pain [1993]

This is the epitome of sludge. A bluesy, drunken rockout from New Orleans, this is not only an essential album to any aspiring drunken lout, but is also essential to fans of metal, particularly those who are also fond of gravelly voices and the blues.

XII Boar - XII EP [2011]

Yet another good EP - this one is very simply sludge with a bit of southern rock drawl (despite hailing from the UK), but it's well-done, and the likes of 'Train Wreck' have a 'don't fuck with this' vibe to them that sits very well with my ears.

The Ocean - Heliocentric [2010]

Whilst Mastodon brought the idea of progressive sludge into vogue, others do it just as well, if not better. This, The Ocean's fourth album, is a departure from their earlier, more aggressive material. The closing one-two 'The Origin Of Species'/'The Origin Of God' is a joy.

Mastodon - Live At The Aragon [2011]

Although I was personally a little disappointed by Mastodon's last album, 'Crack The Skye', this has caused me to a certain extent to reevaluate my opinion on the music, marred as it were by a wafer-thin production. Translated to the live arena, those songs are clearly great. Nice to see songs off 'Remission' being played as well.
