About Court In The Act.

No albums are hosted here. All files must be deleted 24 hours after download, as they are for review and criticism purposes only - provided you follow this guideline, downloading from Court In The Act is legal as per s30(1) of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. If any copyright holder has a problem with their material being posted here, get in touch and I will remove it. Let me know if any links are broken, I'll remove the post to prevent future annoyance, and will attempt to re-upload the file.

Comments make our work worthwhile. If you really enjoyed an album, tell us about it, we'd love to hear from you. If you hated it, tell us why.

Although music is a major part of all of our lives, we all have some form of external life. If there are periods in which no posts are added, I'm sorry, but that's how things happen. Even though I love blogging like this, sometimes I can't muster up the desire within myself to write about yet another album.

I'd like to say too that Court In The Act will never be run for personal profit. This means no advertisement, no premium schemes, and no LinkBucks. Megaupload is used because it strikes a fair balance between ease of upload and ease of download.

Darkthrone - A Blaze In The Northern Sky [1992]

I can't quite believe I haven't posted this one yet. Certainly Darkthrone's best in my (omniscient) opinion, and therefore among the top 5 black metal albums of all time. Although Fenriz has since stated that this album was essentially 'death metal riffs played in a black metal style' in order to meet deadlines for Peaceville, the essence of this album is black metal through and through. Each of the six tracks herein is an acknowledged Darkthrone classic - from the famous opener 'Kathaarian Life Code' via my personal favourite 'In The Shadow Of The Horns' to frosty closer 'The Pagan Winter', every single one hits hard. This is essential for anyone who claims to like metal music.

Darkthrone - All demos [1988-1990]

The image here is simply the Darkthrone logo because I cannot find decent quality scans of artwork for what this contains: all of Darkthrone's pre-'Soulside Journey' demos - that is, the 'Land Of Frost', 'A New Dimension', 'Thulcandra' and 'Cromlech' demos. They themselves are great pieces of death metal, and most of the first album is to be found here, although some tracks are under different names (for instance, 'Cromlech' is here called 'Iconoclasm Sweeps Cappadocia'). This is a gem that you shouldn't miss out on.

Repost notes: I'm not too sure that this is as good as I originally thought it was. Cromlech is brilliant, but the rest is at times a little too amateurish.
